A bizarre couple of Puto superbus
Shearing the passion for hemipterans with Günter Köhler (Jena, Germany) and Klaus Schrameyer (Öhringen, Germany), we summarized our recent observations of giant mealybugs in Saxony (Journal 'Entomologische Nachrichten und Berichte'). Puto superbus Leonardi (Coccina, Putoidae) has been recognized in Germany (Fürth) for the first time 70 years ago. Then, it disappeared for a long period, until we unexpectedly and luckily rediscovered the bizarre beauties during the summer seasons 2017 and 2018.
